Afriscouts Difference and Impact ON Carbon

While there are other organizations leading community grazing or herd management projects, and other organizations conducting digital measurement, reporting, and verification (dMRV),  AfriScout is the only tool that combines remote sensing, adaptive multi-paddock grazing at landscape scale linked to the carbon market, and an application that fuses satellite information with traditional ecological knowledge that has sustained Africa’s grasslands for centuries. There is no comparable solution in this sector

Validation: Application of the Land Degradation Surveillance Framework:

The Land Degradation Surveillance Framework (LDSF) is a comprehensive method developed by World Agroforestry (ICRAF) scientists, that provides a science-based field protocol for measuring land and soil characteristics, vegetation composition, and degradation over time. We chose LDSF to evaluate change in carbon and biodiversity over time due to its strong scientific foundation. Our team was trained by ICRAF on this protocol which was then used to collect baseline samples across our carbon project area. ICRAF is currently evaluating the samples in their laboratories in Kenya.  The protocol will be applied in Q4 of 2025 to demonstrate changes in soil organic carbon and biodiversity, providing Verra and prospective carbon buyers with high confidence of results with respect to the VM0032 and CCB standards. Again, the size and scope in the application of this protocol is distinctive.
